Mr. Brown is a member of the law firm, Bell, Boyd & Lloyd. He and his wife, Solange, have lived on Jupiter Island since 1991 where he has served as a Town Commissioner since 1998 and as Vice Mayor since 2002. He is a director of CFC International, Inc., and Dovenmuehle Mortgage Inc. He also currently serves as a Trustee of the Chicago Orchestral Association, Ravinia Festival Association, Rush University Medical Center , Rush University , Chicago 's PBS station WTTW, and Chicago Classical music radio station WFMT.

Mr. Brown was graduated from Princeton University where he earned a B.A. in 1964 and from Harvard University where he earned an LLB in 1967.

Mr. Brown's special interest as a Town Commissioner has been the Town's Land Development Regulations.
